Unlink or delete media from Family Tree Maker

This article discusses the following:

• Unlink media from an individual or source
• Delete media from your file

1. Click the Media workspace button from the top of the screen, and find and double-click the media item you want to unlink from the individual or source

   

2. The detailed view will open for this media item. In the bottom left, there is a Links section. Select the person or source you want to unlink this media from, and click the Unlink button

   

3. Click Yes to unlink this media item from this person or source

   

4. The media will no longer be linked with that individual or source

1. Click the Media workspace button from the top of the screen, and find and select the media item you want to delete from your file

   

2. Click the Delete button in the upper right corner of the window

   

3. Confirm you want to delete this media item by clicking the Yes or OK button

   

   • Family Tree Maker 2010-2014 also gives you an option to move this file to the recycle bin
4. The media has now been deleted from your tree
