Merging Duplicate Facts in Family Tree Maker for Mac

How do I merge duplicate facts in Family Tree Maker 3?

1. On the People workspace, select the person in your tree that has duplicate facts.

2. Click the Person tab.

3. Control-click a fact that is a duplicate and choose Merge Duplicate Facts from the shortcut menu.

4. A dialog appears with a list of all the facts of the type you selected. Click Select All at the bottom to select all the facts in the list or, to select only those that you want to merge, just check each box that applies. Click Next.

5. Select the options that you want to keep for Date, Place, and Description, if there are differences. Click Finish.

Note: If there are no differences between the facts you want to merge, an alert message will appear that says, “There are no conflicts in the 2 facts. Do you want to proceed with merging these facts?” Click OK and the facts will be merged automatically.
