Looking for more information about upcoming Family Tree Maker events?  You've come to the right place - we've prepared this page with common questions and answers.


Q: I can't make it to the tour events. Can I order FTM 2019 anyway?

A: Yes!  If you're completely new to Family Tree Maker and haven't owned a previous edition, you can find more information including our online store at www.familytreemaker.com.

If you're upgrading from any previous edition of Family Tree Maker, we have upgrade discounts available.  Start by simply signing up for our mailing list on www.familytreemaker.com or by clicking this link.  You'll get an email back shortly after with more information.


Q: Do I need to get tickets ahead or can I just get them at the door?

A: Seating is limited at all events on our tours and they often sell out.  So best to sign up for tickets in advance.


Q: Where do I go to sign up for event tickets?

A: Links to get event tickets are found in emails we send out before each event to those in driving distance and also on our Event Calendar listings (click CALENDAR at www.familytreemaker.com).


Q: Do I need to be a member of the sponsoring genealogy society to attend?

A: No!  All of our advertised events are open to the public.


Q: I don't have a printer or smart phone to have my ticket with me to get into the event, what should I do?

A: Don't worry!  During check-in, just tell us the name on the ticket, and we'll find you in our list.


Q: The event is already sold out, what should I do?

A: When you go to the event sign-up, choose the option to put yourself on the waitlist.  Then if we're able to open up additional seating or tickets become available, we'll be able to contact you.


Q: I'd like to have a tour event in my city. Who do I ask about that?

A: We'd love to work with you on that!  Contact our ambassador team at societies@familytreemaker.com and they'll get in touch with you.


Q: Will any presentations be recorded and posted online?

A: There are currently no plans to record or broadcast any of the tour events, in part due to the “sneak peek” nature of the presentations.


Q: Can someone not attending a tour stop get a conference tote? 

A: Not yet. Because they have been so popular, we are considering adding a tote to our gift collection, but currently the only way to get a Family Tree Maker tote is to attend one of our events.
