When using the new Contacts workspace in FTM 2024 for the first time, you will be asked if you would like to grant yourself access to your own Contacts. This allows you (and only you) to connect emails from your address book to people in your tree so you can invite them to view it.
Your contacts are completely private and secure. Granting yourself access does not share your address book with anyone else, including Family Tree Maker or other users. This feature is designed solely for your personal use, allowing you to conveniently connect emails to individuals in your tree. No one else can view, access, or use your contacts—this is purely for your own organization and ease of inviting family members to collaborate.
Whether you missed the request, misclicked or chose not to grant access at the time, you can still grant access manually if you need to.
You will need to open the Privacy & Security pane in System Settings, select Contacts, and turn on access for Family Tree Maker 2024.
