How do I ignore web search results, and view ignored web search results in Family Tree Maker?
Ignoring Web Search Results
- Access the Web Search results for an individual. To learn more about using web search, click here.
- Click the search result that you want to ignore.
- On the Search Result Detail toolbar, click the Ignore record button.
- The button will be highlighted in orange once it has been selected.
Note: In order for the "ignore" of the record to take effect, you may need to return to the People workspace, and click on the leaf hint again. When the hint page loads, you may see the ignored record initially; however, it should disappear once the list is fully loaded.
Viewing Ignored Web Search Results
- Click the Web Search button on the main toolbar.
- Using the mini pedigree tree or Index of Individuals button, choose the individual whose ignored search results you'd like to view.
- Click Search then select View Ignored Records from the drop down menu. If this individual has no ignored records, a message appears; click OK and choose another individual.
- If you want to take the search result off the Ignore list, click the Ignore record button again. The Ignore record button changes back to blue. When you return to the Person workspace this record will appear in the Ancestry hints list.
