Merging Duplicate Facts in FTM 2017 for Windows

How do I merge duplicate facts in Family Tree Maker 2017?

  1. Within the People workspace, select the person in your tree that has duplicate facts.

  2. Click on the Person tab.

  3. Right-click on one of the facts that is a duplicate, and then click Merge Duplicate Facts.

  4. The Merge Duplicate Facts window comes up with a list of all the facts of the type you selected. Click Select All at the bottom to select all the facts in the list, or to select only those that you would like to merge simply check each box that applies. Click Next.

  5. Select the options that you want to keep for Date, Place and Description, if there are differences. Click Finish.

    Note: If there are no differences between the facts you want to merge, pop-up will appear that says, “There are no conflicts in the 2 facts. Do you want to proceed with merging these facts?” Select Yes and the facts will be merged automatically.
