How do I save a chart or report within Family Tree Maker?

After you’ve modified or customized a chart/report for an individual or family line, you will probably want to save it. Saving will allow you quick access to the exact chart or report again without having to recreate it.

Saving a chart or report

To save a chart or report:

  1. After you have modified the chart or report to your liking, click the Save chart/report button in the editing toolbar.

  2. Enter a name for the chart or report in the name field.

    • Be sure to use a name that will distinguish the chart from others. For example, don’t just use generic terms like “Pedigree Chart” or “Relationship Chart.”
  3. Click Save.


Accessing saved charts and reports

  1. Select Publish from the top and click the Collections tab if it isn’t already active.

  2. Under the Publication Types on the left, please click Saved Charts or Saved Reports.

  3. Double-click the desired chart or report, or select its icon and then click the Detail tab to display it.
