Family Tree Maker 2010-2014 provides the option for you to add a family picture at the top of a Family Group Sheet.
Note: If the index panel isn't visible you may need to click the index panel button located towards the upper-left side of the program.
Note: If the Family panel isn't visible you many need to click the family panel button located towards the lower-left side of the program.
- From the People workspace, click the Family tab (entitled Tree tab in Family Tree Maker 2014) and select either of the parent’s names from the index on the left.
- With one of the parents selected, please click on the Marriage facts button in the Family Group view.
- In the window that appears, click on the Media tab at the top.
- From here you can select the photo you would like to add. To do this, simply click on the drop-down arrow next to New, and select one of the three options provided:
- Add New Media: This option allows you to import a photo that isn’t currently in your main Media gallery. Selecting this opens a window from which you can locate and open the photo you would like to attach from a folder on your computer.
- Link to Existing Media: This option allows you to attach a photo that is already in your Media gallery. Selecting this opens a window from which you can select the media item you'd like.
- Scan Media: This option allows you to scan a photo directly to this fact’s media. Clicking this will open up the scanner dialog window on your computer.
- Once you have made your selection, click OK.
- Now you can add this photo to the top of a Family Group Sheet. After creating your report, you can add this by clicking on the Family Picture drop-down list located directly to the right of Family Group Sheet Preview in the Family Group Sheet Options panel. From the drop-down list, select the photo you have just added.
- Your report should now have your photo displayed at the top.
