Renaming a Tree in Family Tree Maker

To rename a tree in Family Tree Maker, please follow the steps below.

Family Tree Maker 2014

1. Select the Plan workspace, then click the New Tree tab.

2. From the Open a tree box (located in the lower-left corner), highlight the tree you want to rename.

3. Click the Options button, then click Rename Tree from the drop-down menu.

4. Enter the new tree name in the field, then click OK.

The new tree name will now be displayed in the Open a tree.

Family Tree Maker 2009-2012

1. Click the Plan button on the main toolbar.

2. In the Trees section, highlight the tree you want to rename.

3. Click Options and choose Rename Tree from the list.

4. Enter a new name for the tree in the New tree name field and click OK.
