How do I merge duplicate source citations in Family Tree Maker 2017?
With Family Tree Maker open to the Sources workspace:
- Select the Source Group from the left containing the duplicate citations.
Note: If you do not see the left panel with a list of your sources displayed please click the
icon to open the panel.
- Select the first duplicate citation from the middle section.
- Click the Source menu and select Replace Source Citation…
Note: You can also select this option by right-clicking on the highlighted source.
- Choose Source title from the View by menu on the left if it isn’t already selected, and click the correct source group again.
- Click the second duplicate source citation and click OK.
- The Replace Source Citation window will open. Compare the two citations listed. If you want to merge them at this point, click Yes.
- The two citations will be merged.
