Merging Duplicate Sources in FTM 2017 for Windows

How do I merge duplicate source citations in Family Tree Maker 2017?

With Family Tree Maker open to the Sources workspace:

  1. Select the Source Group from the left containing the duplicate citations.

    Note: If you do not see the left panel with a list of your sources displayed please click the Image icon to open the panel.

  2. Select the first duplicate citation from the middle section.

  3. Click the Source menu and select Replace Source Citation…

    Note: You can also select this option by right-clicking on the highlighted source.

  4. Choose Source title from the View by menu on the left if it isn’t already selected, and click the correct source group again.

  5. Click the second duplicate source citation and click OK.

  6. The Replace Source Citation window will open. Compare the two citations listed. If you want to merge them at this point, click Yes.

  7. The two citations will be merged.
