If you encounter an error stating that "another installation is in progress" when trying to install, it is because the Windows Installer Service is still running. You can follow the steps below to address the issue and finish installing Charting Companion successfully.
- If you are using Windows 7, click on the Start button, right-click on Computer, then click on Manage.
If you are using Windows 8 or 10, first make sure you have administrator rights, then press the Windows + R keys, enter "services.msc" into the Run window, then press Enter.
- In the window that opens, click on Services, then find Windows Installer in the list. Right-click on Windows Installer, then click Properties.
- In Windows Installer Properties, change the Startup type to Disabled, click OK, and restart your computer. This stops the service.
- After your computer restarts, follow these steps again to open Windows Installer Properties, and change the Startup type back to Manual. Then proceed with installation for Charting Companion.
