In 2020 Apple announced the transition from Mac computers with Intel processors to Mac computers with Apple silicon. When opening an Intel-based app, you might be notified that support is ending for Intel-based apps, and that the app or a component used by the app will not work with a future release of macOS (macOS 28). We've outlined below the different editions of Family Tree Maker® and their compatibility status:
- FTM 2024 (25.0.2) - Fully compatible.
- FTM 2019 (24.2.2) - Fully compatible.
Please ensure you have the latest free update - click here for details.
- FTM 2017 (23.3) and FTM Mac 3.1 - Under Evaluation
These older editions may not be compatible with macOS 28. We will post updated information when we are closer to the release.
- FTM Mac 1, 2 and 3 (Ancestry Editions) - Not Compatible
