Creating a TreeVault Account

To start using TreeVault® Cloud Services, you must first create a TreeVault account. Initially, it is free so that you can try out TreeVault services for a limited time. At the end of the trial period, you can choose whether to continue with a paid subscription.

There are three ways to go about creating a TreeVault account:

  • On step 2 of the Family Tree Maker 2019 Registration wizard, which appears when you open FTM 2019 for the first time after installation, click the Create Account button.
  • In FTM 2019, choose Connect to TreeVault Cloud Services from the Help menu (in Windows) or from the Family Tree Maker 2019 menu (on Mac) and then click the Create Account link in the dialog that appears.
  • In FTM 2019, click the TreeVault icon on the main toolbar or in the TreeVault Cloud Services panel under the Current Tree tab of the Plan workspace, and click Log In. Then click the Create Account link in the dialog that appears.

In each case, the Create Your TreeVault Account webpage will open in your default web browser.

Follow these steps:

  1. Enter your information into the fields. All fields are required.

Note: Make sure the email address you enter is the same one you used to obtain your TreeVault subscription (when purchasing FTM 2019, for example). You can always change the email address later in the TreeVault Account Manager.

  2. Click Create.

  3. To create a TreeVault account, you must agree to the TreeVault Cloud Services Terms and Conditions by selecting the corresponding checkbox at the bottom of the page.

  4. In FTM 2019, click the TreeVault icon that can be found both on the main toolbar and in the TreeVault Cloud Services panel under the Current Tree tab of the Plan workspace, and then click Log In.

  5. In the Log In to TreeVault window, enter the email address and the password that you provided in step 1, and then click Log In.

After completing these steps, your TreeVault account will be active and you will be logged in and ready to move on to Creating a TreeVault Antenna Tree.
