We have been receiving reports from users regarding intermittent sync failures. We have posted the message below in the sync weather report as advice, and will update this message when we have made progress toward resolution.
If you attempt to sync while weather is orange and consistently experience failures, you may have no alternative but to wait until the situation has been resolved. If you have an urgent need to sync, you can come to live chat so we can review your sync logs and attempt to troubleshoot, though depending on the exact issue there may be no other option but to wait.
(SEPTEMBER 1 UPDATE) - GET BACK TO GREEN IN FTM 2019 WITH THE 24.2.2 UPDATE
The 24.2.2 update for FTM 2019 incorporates essential modifications in Family Tree Maker’s FamilySync technology needed to accommodate changes on Ancestry’s side and return to green sync weather. Developed together with Ancestry engineers, this update also improves the speed and reliability of syncing, uploading and downloading for FTM 2019 users who keep in sync with Ancestry trees. Once you've installed the update, the sync status will change from orange to green.

ALWAYS, ALWAYS BACK UP BEFORE SYNCING
You should make a manual backup whenever you sync, upload or download, and that's especially true when the weather status is orange. For instructions please click here.

Best practice is to have a complete backup of your FTM tree and media collection tucked away so you can restore it if disaster should strike.
