Issues with FamilySearch and FTM 2017

A FAMILYSEARCH UPDATE IS HERE, AND WE'RE READY

As FamilySearch updates the technology Family Tree Maker uses to connect with their site, our developers work with theirs to make sure we understand upcoming changes and prepare updates to FTM 2017 if they are needed. We have known since last Fall that changes "under the hood" would be coming soon from FamilySearch that might affect FTM 2017 users.  As a result, we have built essential adjustments into the free FTM 2017 update (from version 23.0 to 23.1) that was released in late February.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

On May 30, 2018, FamilySearch made a technical change that potentially affects FTM 2017 users running version 23.0 (build 343) that was released in July 2017. If you experience any difficulties using the integration between FTM 2017 and FamilySearch, you should run the free update to version 23.1 (see below). Windows users may experience issues with login, matches, and searching the FamilySearch site using Web Search. Mac users may experience crashes either on startup or when trying to use Family Search features.
